The World Poker Tour is launching new WPT branded events, but with a smaller buy-in. These events will be conducted in both the United States and Europe, with the first stops already concluded. The first event of the WPT Regional Series happened at the Seminole Hard Rock Fall Poker Open (Nov 19-22) which included a $5,000 buy-in main event. Young Harrison Gimbel, who also won the 2010 PCA main event for $2.2 million, bested this event for $333,000. The second WPT Regional event took place in Indiana at the Hollywood Fall Classic with a $1,600 main event. The next event is set on the WPT National Series stop in Paris beginning on February 9.
Two other WPT tournaments were also made public as part of television UB Referral Code coverage overseas. WPT Venice and WPT Vienna are set to take place in February and March, 2011, respectively.
Many are excited for the return in Venice, which debut WPT National Series and High Rollers event in Paris and taking the Tour to Vienna for the very first time. The future is electrifying and these international UB Poker Review events give players even more chances to compete on poker’s premiere stage,” said WPT President Adam Pliska.
