The European Poker Tour stop in Barcelona my lack the household names amongst the 24 final players, but somewhere in Germany one household in particular is very excited. Giuseppe Pantaleo with 2,309,000 after Day 3 and only 23 players stand in his way of winning the title leads the EPT Barcelona Main Event and inches away to €825,000 ($1.1 million US) first place prize money, Party Poker Code.
Pantaleo put quite the distance between himself and his nearest competitors with over the 2,000,000 chip mark. Alessandro Longobardi in second with 1,863,000 and Thor Stang with 1,447,000 made it in third place.
Six of the final 24 players hail from Spain. Only one American, Zachary Korik, remains in the field. Korik tot up 888,000 chips to end the night and finds himself in 11th spot overall. Konstantin Puchkov, who triumphed this summer and got himself a WSOP bracelet remains in the hunt with 820,000 chips. The day began with 112 players and through five Party Poker Mac levels of play the field reached the pre-determined 24 remaining players.
